As we close in on the transition to Google Apps for Education, OIT has compiled resources and guidance to help make your adaptation to the new environment as smooth as possible. We are announcing the release of the “Going Google Guide for St. Mary’s College” – a comprehensive Google Site designed answer questions, connect you to training and support, and guide you through the exploration of the many new features that Google Apps for Education offers to the campus community. You can find this valuable resource at:
Some of the key information provided on the site:
- Your First Few Days – where to log in, how to find the various Apps, etc.
- Switching from Outlook – how to decide whether to use all the features of Google Apps or set up the Google Sync for Outlook client
- Mobile Setup – getting all your devices and mail clients to read your mail
- Training – signup for in-person training with OIT or view the tutorial videos on the core products in Google Apps for Education
As a reminder, OIT is sponsoring two open forums in the Glendening Annex on Monday, December 3rd and Tuesday, December 4th at from noon to 1:00 pm. Feel free to come and ask questions about why we are transitioning, how it’s going to work, and how to be prepared for the new opportunities with Google Apps for Education.
