Many Jenzabar CX (aka CARS) users have received messages over the of the past week asking them to update to the most recent version of Java. This comes about due to the release of a new version of the software (7th edition, update 45), on Tuesday,October 15th.
If you get one of these requests, please hold off on updating Java, by clicking the Remind me Later option, as we have not confirmed that these two pieces of software are compatible.
If you are tired of being constantly asked to update Java, we believe you may be able to reduce these messages with the following instructions:
- Open the Control Panel.
- Select Java
- You might have to make sure that you are not in Category View in the upper right hand corner.
- Select the Update tab.
- Make sure that you have unchecked Check for Updates Automatically.
- Click OK to save your changes and exit the tool.
You can turn off automatic updates and the frequency at which Java asks you to update the software.
If you have any questions or concerns, please put in a ticket at itsupport.smcm.edu, or give us a call at 240-895-4357 (xHELP).
